Having worked with pastels for a while most pastel artists make choices in the under-layers of their paintings which will impact positively on their finished picture, such as colour choice and texture of paper, and the initial colour of their blocking in.
This workshop is designed to introduce you to Isocol, otherwise known as rubbing alcohol. Using it is one more choice available to you to work more constructively with the initial layers of your paintings.
This method of working is quick and gives you a greater sense of control. Isocol helps to reduces pastel build up in the paper’s tooth allowing room for subsequent layers and mark making.
The working process will be demonstrated and discussed along with useful tips.
